About Us

Reverend Calville Dunnon

Reverend Calville 'Cal' Dunnon, envisioned organizing a Christ-centered non-profit organization called International Agape Ministries over 16 years ago to minister to needs outside the four walls of the church and into the margins of society where people are most disparate. Since then he has established relationships with clergy, medical personnel and volunteers from every walk of life who share this vision. His ministry has impacted orphans, the sick and suffering, students, parents, prisoners, indentured servants, ministers and missionaries, policy-makers and clinicians along the eastern seaboard of the United States, and overseas in the countries of Haiti, Dominican Republic and Cuba. The ministry is a way of life, rather than a job. Blue Jeans Ministry was an outgrowth of this lifestyle and an extension of Phyllis Dunnon's desire to reach people in the community for Christ. To date, Rev. Cal Dunnon has merged the two visions to make an impact both locally and abroad.

EFCA
For over five years, Rev. Cal Dunnon served as the Pastor of Roosevelt Bible Church and a minister in the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA) in Hempstead, New York. There he worked with local officials and concerned citizens to reduce gang violence and bring awareness of issues pertinent to the community.

International Missions

Republic of Haiti
For more than 14 years, Reverend Dunnon has worked with and supported a number of orphanages and in particular with a Christian mission known as MEBI (Mission Des Eglese Baptistes Independantes) De Haiti, a Non-governmental organization (NGO) established over 50 years ago, located in Port Au Prince and Bombardo Polis, Haiti.

MEBI provides clinics to the community at large through the hands of visiting medical doctors, an on-site registered nurse and other health care providers. Pastor Leslie Harris and Madam Leo Harris are President and Vice President. The mission has three orphanages, three schools and three churches, and is the mother church for 22 other churches that now operate orphanages.

Their second mission is Ark of the Alliance Mission in Kenscoff, Haiti. Kenscoff is located about 12 miles outside of Port Au Prince. This mission also serves the local community through its orphanage called Les Enfantes de Jesus with about 29 children, an elementary school with about 250 students and a church with a congregation of about 300 people.

Dominican Republic
In November 2011, Reverend Dunnon relocated to San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic to take on a deeper role in ministering to an impoverished and spiritually hungry people. He then established Fundacion Pequenos Mano, a Non-Governmental Organization registered and recognized by the Dominican government as a Christian charitable organization based out of the nation's capital, Santo Domingo. Mission trips deliver the gospel of Jesus Christ and foster relationships with communities and community leaders; to empower people to take accountability; to deliver medical aide and to help foster self-sustainability in small villages. As such we are asking for your support, both in prayer and financially, as Rev. Cal Dunnon extends himself unselfishly to God’s will.

Phyllis Dunnon
Mrs. Dunnon together with Rev. Dunnon envisioned IAM over 14 years ago while praying for the Lord to open a way for them to reach out to the many college students living across the street from them in the village of Hempstead, NY. The Blue Jeans Ministry is an extension of their desire to welcome people into the home in their casual attire - blue jeans.

In addition to her work in support of the ministry, Phyllis spear-headed a women's fellowship auxiliary to encourage women to take an active role in serving in the community; as such she has supported the IAM mission both locally and abroad as a clinician, a community activist and evangelist. Phyllis Dunnon passed away on August 10, 2008 amidst her ministry work within the EFCA, but her legacy lives on through the work of Blue Jeans Ministry and through her family.

Dr. Pilar Martin
Dr. Martin has partnered with IAM internationally in the capacity of a health care provider and human rights advocate. The medical missions have proved to be an invaluable resource to the many refugees, disaster displaced persons and prisoners - as well as the children and orphans of these groups.
